3 Ubers, 1 bus, 2 trains and 3 flights

This is all for my friend Pearl. I have been a mess of anticipation over my dear friend Pearl's wedding. I have been so excited for her and Peyton, however I happen to be thousands and thousands of miles from the location of said wedding. So this is the story of my journey to Pearl's wedding. It starts with an Uber. Nothing super eventful about this Uber except I thought we were going to die for the driver was speeding excessively given we live in the mountains. But we persisted don't you worry. It was then time for mode of transport number 2: a bus. San Isidro de El General to San Jose. Okay divas lock-in.  I had to say goodbye to my homegirl (I miss her dearly and it's only been 10 hours since I left). This was a 3 hour bus ride turned 5 hours but I already knew that was going to happen because the traffic here is so terrible, so I was prepared. All I did was read my book and text my ex-girlfriend! Complete. Nailing it so far. I then had to walk 25 minutes to get to my hostel for the night. Oh this is about a three day journey so that's the end of Day 1!

South Beach Campground

Okay Y'all. You are about to hear about the worlds greatest campground. Now I am writing this months and months later but I still regularly think about South Beach Campground and how perfect and amazing it is. Now I am not totally sure how we stumbled upon south beach but we didn't plan out where we were tenting so we would just do research based on the proximity to us. So we spent the day in Mount Rainier National Park and it was a super cloudy day and we realized we were not going to be about the see the mountain and we couldn't afford to spend another day in the park so we went and saw many waterfalls and packed up to head west towards Olympic National Park. A section of the park is on the Pacific Coast so we planned to drive up the coast. We were desperate to see the ocean. And somehow by some way that I don't recall we ended up at the beauty that is South Beach Campground.

Top Hikes

On our journey across the United States and Canada I got the opportunity to go on many hikes. I am the sort of person that will hike for about 6 miles max, so nothing too crazy on this list, just good views and nice terrain. (This list was created in the Fall of 2025 and I have been on crazy hikes since that would probably make the list)

The Joy of The American Diner

Hayden and I's trip was full of learning experiences and the attempt of understanding all the different ways of life in the US. One of our major discoveries was that the best way to run a diner is to have a middle-aged women running the entire floor. They not only provide excellent quick service they don't mess around. The diner is on the back of the bad ass women running the floor, and we stand by that. On occasion we decided to stop in a diner, not only did we get an amazing meal every time, but we also got the comfort of being taken care of by the women running the show. Free refills on coffee (which is exactly how it should be) and a working class, humble feel that we can relate to. The food was always amazing and each time we were in a diner we felt like family.

Finally Out of Here

It has been a very long winter right guys. And while I love being home seeing my friends and family nothing speaks to my soul like leaving home to explore a new place and meet new people and see new things. So on 3/19 my best friend Hayden and I took a flight to Guatemala City, Guatemala. Now don't ask any follow up questions because there really was no rhyme or reason for this trip we just decided it was time to see new things and we required nice weather and good energy. So after about a 21 hour travel day, a really long nap and a nights rest we have finally concluded our first full day in Guatemala! We made some friends, tried some beers, and explored a market. Overall very successful day 1, we are headed to the coast nexttttt!!!!
